Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 3 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Scope, the quoting and estimating app for UK tradespeople, provided through the website scopequotes.co.uk and its app previews (together, the "Service").

Who you are contracting with

The Service is operated by S Barry, trading as "Scope" ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

Subscriptions and payment

Scope offers a 7-day free trial followed by a paid subscription of £7.99 per month. You can cancel at any time; if you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payments, billing, tax, cancellations and refunds are additionally governed by Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms.

What Scope does (and does not) do

Scope helps you draft quotes and estimates, including estimates generated with the help of artificial intelligence. Estimates are suggestions only: you remain fully responsible for checking every price, quantity and assumption before sending a quote to a customer, and for the accuracy and legality of anything you send. Scope is not a chartered quantity surveying service and its outputs are not professional advice.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always review estimates before relying on them, and do not use Scope for regulated professional advice without appropriate human oversight.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details confidential. You are responsible for activity carried out under your account. Give us accurate information (for example your business profile details) and keep it up to date.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:

Your content

You keep ownership of the job details, photos, prices and other content you put into Scope. You give us a limited licence to host and process that content only as needed to provide the Service to you — for example, generating an estimate from your spoken description, or storing site photos. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, tell us through the in-app contact form and we will investigate and remove material where appropriate. Repeated infringement may lead to account termination.

Intellectual property

The Service itself — including the software, design, branding and documentation — belongs to S Barry trading as Scope. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your chosen plan.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, do not pay what is owed, create a security or fraud risk, or seriously or repeatedly breach our policies. Where possible we will tell you beforehand. If your access ends, you can export your data by requesting it through the in-app contact form before it is deleted.

Service availability

We aim to keep Scope running smoothly, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, third-party outages and other issues may affect availability.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profit, lost data or lost goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
