Privacy Notice

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This notice explains how personal data is handled when you use Scope, the quoting and estimating app for UK tradespeople. The data controller is S Barry, trading as "Scope" ("we", "us"). You can reach us through the contact form on our website or the Help & feedback section in the app.

What we collect

Why we use it

Who we share data with

We never sell your personal data, and your quote and customer data is only visible to you.

International transfers

Some of the providers above are based outside the UK and EEA. Where your data leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses, alongside the UK adequacy regulations where they apply.

How long we keep data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, accounting or dispute purposes. When it is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any right, contact us through the in-app form or the website contact page — we respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level permissions in our database, so that your work content stays private to you.

Cookies and storage

Scope uses only essential browser storage (for keeping you signed in and remembering your light or dark theme preference). We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes materially we will update this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
